A German Requiem - Brahms
The Canton Symphony Orchestra presents Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) as part of their season entitled “Where Our Stories Meet.” In her debut with the Canton Symphony, Jessica will appear as soloist alongside bass-baritone Sunghoon Han. The program also features Gabriela Lena Frank’s Andean Elegy. Guest conductor Mélisse Brunet will lead the Canton Symphony and the Canton Symphony Chorus.

WORLD PREMIERE
Originally conceived as an oratorio by composer Paul Moravec and librettist Mark Campbell, A Nation of Others has been workshopped by this amazing composer/librettist duo in conjunction with the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre to become a fully staged opera. Come listen to the stories of immigrants as they experience their passage through Ellis Island on a single day in 1921. Each has their own reasons for coming to America, but they all share the dream of a new life in a strange new land. Stage direction by Sarah Ina Meyers. Conducted by Everett McCorvey.
Jessica, singing the role of Masha, is appearing as a guest artist with her alma mater as they present this moving and timely work.

Jessica joins LexPhil and The Lexington Singers in a return to the beautiful Cathedral of Christ the King for this holiday tradition of timeless orchestral, solo, and choral works. This awe-inspiring musical experience in a divine setting will transport all to a place of peace that evokes the spirit of the holiday season.

(Candle)LIT Holidays
Jessica Leigh returns to NEPA Philharmonic’s (Candle)LIT concert series for some holiday magic! Highlights include the soprano’s moving rendition of O Holy Night with the Abington Heights High School Choir and the Ballet Theatre of Scranton. Music director Mélisse Brunet leads a concert of holiday favorites old and new - with surprise guests from the North Pole!

In her solo debut with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic Orchestra, Jessica joins their (Candle)LIT concert series in presenting Mozart’s timeless Requiem. Conductor Mélisse Brunet will lead the combined forces of the NEPA Phil orchestra and the Marywood University Choir (directed by Dr. Rick Hoffenberg). The quartet of soloists is completed with mezzo-soprano Inayah Raheem, tenor Dylon Crain, and bass-baritone Sunghoon Han.
The concert will open with the heartbreaking Chorale for Strings by late Ukrainian composer Hanna Havrylets.

With an all-star cast including Jorell Williams (Figaro), Bizhou Chang (Countess Almaviva), and Brian Major (Count Almaviva), this comedy favorite will be brought to Columbus audiences by stage director Bruno Baker in the historic Southern Theatre. Mozart’s brilliant score will be brought to life by conductor Casey Robards and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.

Gloria - Francis Poulenc
The Lexington Philharmonic series, “French Impressions,” will feature Jessica Bayne as the soprano soloist for Poulenc’s Gloria in collaboration with the Lexington Singers (Jeff Johnson, director). The program also includes Debussy’s La Mer, Ravel’s Boléro, and Overture No. 2 by Louise Farrenc. The Lexington Philharmonic’s music director and conductor, Mélisse Brunet, will lead the performance.

Les animaux en récital
Jessica joins in a recital hosted by pianist Paige Crain for a program featuring art songs all about animals. She will be singing Ravel’s charming Histoires Naturelles where a swan, a cricket, and more come to life. The program also features Dylon Crain, tenor, Max Taylor, bass, and Pono Fike, cello. Come hear what the animals have to say!
This event will take place in the Recital Hall of the Singletary Center. It is free and open to the public.
Carmina Burana
The Western Kentucky University Symphony Orchestra collaborates with the Southern Kentucky Choral Society and WKU Choirs to present Carl Orff’s masterwork Carmina Burana. Jessica Bayne will be featured as the soprano soloist under the baton of Dr. Paul Hondorp.

This solo recital is presented in collaboration with pianist Nan McSwain and features art song repertoire from Robert Schumann, Claude Debussy, and Fernando Obradors. Jessica Bayne is a guest soloist for Ron Nelson’s “Aspen Jubilee” with the University of Kentucky Wind Symphony as they present a program that includes music by John Williams and Andreas Makris.

The American Spiritual Ensemble - Winter Tour
Jessica is a featured member of prestigious touring company, The American Spiritual Ensemble. The group is directed by its founder, Dr. Everett McCorvey, and is dedicated to the preservation of the American Negro Spiritual. The 2024 Winter Tour takes place between January and April.

NATSAA Semifinals
One of fourteen semifinalists, Ms. Bayne will compete for a spot in the final round of the 2024 NATS Artist Awards. She will be collaborating with pianist Nan McSwain.

Celebration of Song
Celebration of Song is an annual holiday concert presented by Alltech. The program features solo and ensemble arrangements of holiday favorites old and new accompanied by the Alltech Holiday Orchestra. Ms. Bayne is an audience favorite and is highlighted throughout the program.
The production is also filmed by WKYT and broadcast on Christmas Day.

Carmina Burana
Ms. Bayne makes her Lexington Philharmonic debut in their season of Epic Voices as the soprano soloist of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. She joins tenor Dylon Crain and baritone Christopher Burchett, along with the Lexington Singers, being led by conductor Mélisse Brunet.
